The Ceredigion coastal town has a rich maritime tradition; it was once an important ship building port and is now one of Wales' most popular tourist spots. Around the quay and the port, one building painted bright blue stands out more than most - The Harbourmaster Hotel.
Four years ago, Glyn and Menna gave up successful careers to chase a dream. "We both had this passion for creating somewhere unique where people would come and stay and eat in the area where we were brought up," explains Menna.
"We had both travelled a lot and had seen some great relaxed and unstuffy hotels and cafés, but at the time you didn't see that kind of establishment in rural Wales. We picked up a lot of ideas from things we'd seen in New Zealand and France and adapted them to create a place which we hope is contemporary and stylish, where people of all ages can come to enjoy themselves and feel at home."
As well as running the restaurant, Glyn and Menna are part of the team that organises the annual local Seafood Festival, which will take place on Sunday, 10 July this year. Over the years, the Cardigan Bay Seafood Festival has grown to be one of the highlights of the food calendar in Wales and several thousand people are expected to flock to the quayside this summer to see and taste the best of local seafood, fish and other produce.
"The Cardigan Bay Seafood Festival has been running for seven years now, and it just goes from strength to strength", explains Menna.
"The event is a celebration of fresh local produce at its best", adds Dudley. "Menna, Glyn and the rest of the festival team are to be congratulated on the success of the festival. It's great to see festivals like this becoming more popular in Wales."
During the programme, Dudley will also visit the local producers who ensure that only the best vegetables, herbs and meats are served at the Harbourmaster, including Wendy and Kath Morris of Tanrallt Organic Vegetables near Llanrhystud and Rob Rattray, a local butcher from Aberystwyth.
