METHOD
Mix all the ingredients together and add enough cold water to make a soft dough but firm enough to be able to shape in long dumplings. Knead lightly then divide dough into dumplings measuring 6 x 2 inches in length. Flatten the dumplings a little so that they can cook evenly.
Fry the dumplings in a pan of hot oil (around 3 inches deep) until golden brown, turning when necessary. Drain the dumplings on paper towels. Dust with brown sugar and serve hot.
