CHEESE SCONES

ENOUGH FOR :

INGRIEDIENTS

1 pound of plain flour
3 teaspoons of baking powder
Pinch of salt
¼ teaspoon of Cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon of mustard powder
4 ounces of butter
6 ounces of strong cheese (grated)
½ pint of milk
1 beaten egg (to brush over the scones)
METHOD
Mix the dry ingredients together in a good-sized bowl.
Rub the butter in well and then add the cheese, before adding the milk and mixing together to create a dough.
Roll out the dough and cut into individual scones.
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C-220°C / Gas mark 7, for 15 minutes.
