METHOD
Mix the self raising flour, suet, milk and half the sugar together to make a dry mixture. Roll the mixture out on a table to about 12" x 6" and put on a layer of the blackberries. Sprinkle over the rest of the sugar and roll into a swiss roll shape. Transfer onto a damp cloth with a light layer of plain flour on. Roll the mixture in the cloth and tie each end with string to create a neat parcel. Cook in a big saucepan of boiling water for 45 minutes, making sure that the water stays at boiling all the time. Take the pudding out and carefully remove from the cloth. Serve with sugar and full milk or cream.
