This is episode deg (10) in the drama ‘Teulu’ (Family) which is set and was filmed in Aberaeron. The drama follows the Bryncelyn family as relationships form and break down. The author is the actor, Meic Povey. This is the last episode of the present series.
The ruby wedding celebration at the Aeron Court Hotel ended in disaster as Dr John announced that his engagement to Eirlys was off. Richard intends to see John to find out why. Margaret knows that she was to blame for telling Eirlys that John didn’t love her.
Eirlys arrives at the surgery to find that there has been a break-in. The alarm wasn’t functioning. Had it been turned on? Dr John hadn’t intended to come to work – but now he’ll have to.
Danny walks into the bar and demands money from his partner, Llinos. She has her own problems. The chef has had an accident climbing a tree. Danny offers to help and Llinos agrees to allow him to work in the bar for two days.
Catrin needs to know whether she has a future with Llŷr and goes to see Llŷr’s former wife, Manon. Manon assures her that she is no longer interested. She has been seeing both Hywel and Steffan. But is she really interested in Hywel anymore?
Dr John tells Richard that Eirlys is doing a wonderful job dealing with the robbery and the breaking of the engagement but does not volunteer information about why they broke up. Richard invites John for supper at Bryncelyn so that he can discuss what happened.
Manon tells Hywel that their relationship was a mistake. Does this mean that she is still interested in her husband, Llŷr, after all? He is certainly interested in her. Where would this leave Llŷr’s present partner, Catrin?
Margaret pumps John about his reasons for breaking the engagement. He explains that the decision was mutual but there is tension – especially when she starts to drop hints about her own feelings for John. Llŷr turns up drunk and announces that other people’s wives are trouble. Catrin is upset and leaves.
Catrin finds Manon’s rings in Llŷr’s draw and challenges him about his feelings for his wife. He ends their relationship.
Llŷr sees Manon with Steffan and is forced to face reality. Later Richard tells him that if he wants to inherit Bryncelyn he has to settle with Catrin. He realizes that he has to get her back.
