Croeso i Fae Caerdydd ac Eisteddfod yr Urdd. Welcome to Cardiff Bay and the Urdd Youth Eisteddfod. This slide show will take you some of the events to be broadcast on S4C.
The broadcasting starts at 8.30 p.m. Dydd Sul, 24 Mai (Sunday, 24 May). Cyngerdd yr Urdd (the Urdd Concert) will star Bryn Terfel and some of the winners of the Bryn Terfel Scholarship.
From dydd Llun (Monday) to dydd Iau (Thursday) you’ll be able to watch programmes from the Eisteddfod from 10.00 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. On dydd Gwener (Friday) and dydd Sadwrn (Saturday) there will be extra programmes.
On S4C2 there will also be a ‘seat in the Pavilion’ between 11.00 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. from dydd Llun (Monday) to dydd Gwener (Friday) – with an extra half hour on dydd Gwener (Friday).
On dydd Mawrth (Tuesday), the Welsh Learners’ Medal will be awarded. The competition is open to all learners aged 14 – 19.
On dydd Mercher (Wednesday) Y Fedal Ddrama (the Drama Medal) is awarded. There is also an opportunity to hear the Urdd’s Goodwill Message which will already have been broadcast in 34 languages.
On dydd Iau (Thursday) you’ll be able to enjoy the Chairing ceremony awarded this year for the best poem on the theme ‘Ymlaen’ (Onwards). If you are in Bae Caerdydd on Thursday evening, please come to the S4C Leraners’ evening in the S4C Tent on the Eisteddfod field. It starts at 7.00 p.m.
On dydd Gwener (Friday) there will be another ceremony – the Crowning. This is awarded for prose on an open theme.
