The drama Teulu’ (Family) is set and was filmed in Aberaeron and follows the Bryncelyn family at home, in a night club and restaurant and in the local surgery. Please check earlier programmes for the story so far. The author is the actor, Meic Povey.
Richard mentions that he intends to invite Dr John out for lunch. His wife, Margaret, is keen to know whether Dr John is romantically involved with Eirlys the practice manager. Why the concern?
Owain (10) is keen to go on holiday abroad. Hywel, his father, likes the idea but his mother, Catrin, is not keen. She is still trying to come to terms with the fact that Hywel has had an affair.
Restaurant owner Llinos, is having a difficult pregnancy and asks partner Danny to phone her mother, Margaret. He does so but seems more interested in getting hold of his daughter from a previous marriage, Lydia.
Surgery manager Eirlys receives a call from Margaret requesting that Dr John should see Llinos who is having trouble keeping food and drink down. Eirlys is unwilling for him to go as he has appointments. Dr John insists on a home visit.
New meddyg (doctor), Steffan Jones arrives and is given a warm welcome.
Dr John accepts an invitation to supper at Bryncelyn and mentions that he may bring someone else. Richard realizes that he is talking about Eirlys.
Dr Manon, who has just resigned after her affair with Hywel is staying with Meleri but she shows no sign of moving on. Meleri wants to offer her spare room to Dr Steffan.
Llŷr, Hywel’s younger brother has agreed to take his nephew Owain out for the day. Hywel knows nothing about the arrangement and blows a fuse when he sees them out together.
Dr John asks Eirlys to accompany him to Bryncelyn Thursday night – but Eirlys refuses to have supper with Margaret.
