This is episode chwech (6) in the drama ‘Teulu’ (Family) which is set and was filmed in Aberaeron. The drama follows the Bryncelyn family at home, in a night club and restaurant and in the local surgery. The author is the actor, Meic Povey.
Catrin is staying at Bryncelyn after finding that her husband Hywel has had an affair. She has begun a relationship with Llŷr, Hywel’s brother, but wants to keep it secret. She is hoping that she and Hywel will be able to get back together.
Danny wants to get close to his pregnant partner Llinos – the owner of Bwyty Pen y Cei Restaurant. Llinos, however, is only interested in new prams.
Hywel has made arrangements to pick up his son, Owain, to take him to the cinema. Llŷr, however, scuppers his plans by announcing that he will be taking the boy ten pin bowling.
Surgery manager Eirlys suggests that Dr John should take Richard Morgan, Bryncelyn, on a fishing trip to Cork in Ireland.
Danny is concerned that money is missing from the till but Llinos is only interested in the 12 week scan picture she has. She announces that she has arranged for her and Danny to go shopping in Swansea tomorrow (dydd Gwener/Friday) for baby clothes.
Dai the painter has finished his work and new doctor Steffan Jones moves his files into the refurbished room. Hywel is angry that the room wasn’t offered to him.
Myra, Danny’s former wife, announces that Lydia, their daughter will be singing at a Young Farmers’ gig nos Wener (Friday evening) in Llandysul and asks for a lift. Will Danny be back from Abertawe (Swansea) in time?
Steffan is concerned that so many patients are on temazepam and diazepam and asks whether they are being monitored. Hywel takes this as a personal accusation. Steffan suggests that monitoring clinics should be held but Hywel says he is too busy to take part.
Hywel and Catrin meet for lunch but things don’t go well and Hywel announces that he intends to see a solicitor to get custody of their son, Owain.
