This week Iolo and Shân are going to Dolgellau, Gwynedd. They go around the area and talk with the people who live and work here.
Dolgellau is a market town in Snowdonia National Park. Today there are around 2,700 people living here.
In the eighteenth century the wool industry was important in Dolgellau. Today many people like climbing Cadair Idris and Dolgellau is an important place for walkers and mountaineers.
Iolo goes cycling on the Mawddach Trail with Ifan Richards. Ifan has been cycling since 2005. He also does mountain running and he’s competed for Wales.

Iolo goes to Gwynedd County Council workshop to meet Tudur Evans. Tudur is also a comedian.
Shân goes to a pony trekking centre to meet Jaspa Wynne-Williams. Jaspa has been teaching in the centre since 2002. She teaches children and adults with special needs how to ride horses.
Many of the buildings in Dolgellau are granite buildings. There are many registered buildings in the town. The bridge in the town goes back to 1638.
Iolo talks with Gareth Wyn Jones to learn more about the history of the building ‘Gwanas Fawr’. Gareth has been living there since 2002. Gareth also works as an artist.
Shân goes to the shop ‘Dylanwad Da’ to meet Dylan Roberts who tastes wine. Dylan comes from Essex originally and he has learnt Welsh. Dylan teaches Shân how to taste wine.
Iolo goes to see a bunkhouse in the town for people who come to walk and cycle in the area. 16 people can sleep here and there’s a small kitchen and a bathroom in every room.
Shân goes to Tŷ Siamas. Tŷ Siamas is an important centre in the town and there are many activities and workshops here. She talks with Ed Holden who’s teaching beat-boxing to a group of school children.
