October 2009. Defi and Mari, Doug and Siân are living in Pen Talar. Defi’s writing, Mari goes to college in Carmarthen, Siân is an Assembly Member in Cardiff and Doug is working on the Carmarthen Journal. It’s time for everyone to face the past and the truth.

Awen has died but she’s alive in Defi’s heart. To Defi, the Assembly hasn’t created the new Wales. Now, the hope for the future is in his daughter, Mari.

Awen has died but she’s alive in Mari’s heart. She goes down to the river often to talk with her mum. And what is the secret between Iolo and Mari?

Siân isn’t happy with her role as an Assembly Member. Berian and the politicians all want to close the village school and move the children to a large area school. Is Siân ready to stand with the parents of the school against Berian and the politicians?

Irfona feels strongly against closing the school. She had to close the shop and the post office because of the big shops. The chapel has closed and the village is dying; there’s nothing left but the school.

Doug and Defi want Siân to leave the Assembly but she doesn’t want to run away from her responsibilities. She makes a statement in front of the Senedd in Cardiff. “Does gan y gwir ddim llawer yn gyffredin â gwleidyddiaeth heddiw.” (The truth doesn’t have a lot in common with politics today.)

A company called LPP wants to help to keep the school open. Doug comes to talk about the company with Defi. The chairman of LPP is a face from the past – Maldwyn “Brwmstan” Pritchard.

Mari is on the bank of the river thinking about her mum. Suddenly she sees a man standing there – Maldwyn Pritchard.

Doug goes to talk with Robert Evans who works for LPP. They want to build an eco holiday park in the area. The chairman comes in to the room and Doug comes face to face with Maldwyn for the first time since 1962.

Defi and Doug aren’t happy to see Maldwyn Pritchard back in the village – they remember what Maldwyn did to Lorraine in 1962. Has the time come to tell the truth and share the secret from the past?
