Competition Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions, along with the rules and working practice of the Competition given to you are the Competition Rules ("Rules") relating to Seren Bethlehem S4C ("The Competition"). If there are any inconsistencies between the Competition Rules and working practices and these terms and conditions, these terms and conditions will stand. Your participation in the Competition will bind you to the Rules.

  1. The Competition is organised by Boomerang+ PLC, 218 Penarth Road, Cardiff CF11 8NN (Company number 2936337) ("the Company")
  2. To be eligible to take part in the Competition, you must be a pupil in one of these schools in the Bethlehem area: Ysgol Gynradd Ffairfach, Ysgol Gynradd Llandeilo, Ysgol Gymraeg Teilo Sant, Ysgol Gymraeg Cwm Ifor and Ysgol Gynradd Llangadog.
  3. The competition is open to individuals only. One application per entrant will be admitted.
  4. The competitor must create a drawing of a star on an A4 piece of paper. The winning picture will inspire the design of an art installation to be created by Nia Wyn Jones and exhibited in a prominent position in the locality. All applicants must write their full name, age and name of school on a piece of paper placed inside a blank envelope and stuck to the back of the picture with tape. No pictures without an envelope taped to the back will be considered for the Competition. The Company will collect all the pictures from the schools. It will not be possible to return any pictures. The Company intends to display a selection of the pictures in an exhibition in the Llangadog area.
  5. The Company reserves the right to ask for written evidence showing proof of age of any winning competitor and to disqualify any competitor if the Company has reasonable grounds to believe that the competitor has disobeyed any of these rules and regulations.
  6. The winner will be selected by a panel appointed by the Company. The Panel's decision regarding the winning entrant will be final and will not enter into any correspondence regarding this matter.
  7. The winning entrant, first runner-up and second runner-up will be notified through their respective schools.
  8. The winner, first runner-up and second runner-up will be invited to attend a concert held in Llangadog Church on 13 December 2009.
  9. After the closing date, the winning entrant's details will be noted on s4c.co.uk/cystadlaethau for 21 days or will be available by contacting S4C's Viewer's Hotline on 0870 600 4141.
  10. Members of staff of the Company, Mr Producer Ltd. and S4C or any company or business establishment connected to the Competition will not be eligible to take part in this Competition.
  11. The closing date for the Competition is 16 September 2009. No entries received after 16:00 on the closing date will be entered into the Competition.
  12. Some competitors might be asked to appear in an item within the Seren Bethlehem television series, to be transmitted on S4C, and to take part in promotional activities. The Company or S4C are not committed to produce or transmit any programme relating to the Competition.
  13. The Company reserves the right to make use of the first name, school name, photographs and sound/visual recordings of the competitors and their pictures in any promotional material and on the series website.
  14. The Company reserves the right to cancel/amend the Competition or the Rules without notice if the Company deems it necessary due to circumstances beyond the control of the Company.
  15. Your personal Data will only be used in accordance to the Data Protection Act 1998 and not revealed to any third party except for the purpose of administering this competition. Boomerang will only use entrants' personal data for the purpose of administering the competition and will not use such data for any other purpose. Boomerang will destroy all personal data in its possession received as part of competition entries once the competition is over. Personal data will be processed in accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998 and shall not be shared with any third party without prior consent.
  16. In the event of any dispute regarding the Rules, conduct, results and all other matters relating to the Competition, the decision of the Company shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
  17. This Competition is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
