Last year, S4C viewers were given a taste of Cegin Cofi - a project which aimed to develop the cookery skills of young people from a disadvantaged council estate, while also offering cheap and healthy food for residents in Caernarfon.
In a new two-part series, Dos i Gwcio, we'll catch up with the colourful characters in the heat of the kitchen to see how things have changed over the past year. The mini series, which starts on Thursday, 24 May, follows Kenny Khan and youngsters from the Ysgubor Goch estate as they move on to the next step and take their mobile kitchen out on the road.
The entire community has come together to help Cegin Cofi's scheme. Local businesses and Sylfaen Cymunedol charity have given their time, resources and tools to ensure the project's success. But by securing grants and financial support, Kenny and the boys hope to turn the scheme into an even bigger and better mobile kitchen.
"The seed has grown and grown and has now become a reality," explains Kenny. "From now on there are no freebies. We're running a business and this is the real deal. Money from the grant can help train the lads, sort out their Food and Hygiene certificates and give them smart uniforms to wear on the van."
Securing the grants is not the only challenge facing Kenny and Anthony 'Sgaw' Williams -a hard worker who has been involved with the project from the start. They'll need to recruit more young workers to assist them as the business progresses and send them on cookery courses with cook Maggie Ogunbanwo in Penygroes.
"The most important thing is that they enjoy the project and the experience - the experience of cooking and experience of the business world. Working in the kitchen builds confidence in youngsters and gives them a great chance of finding work and gaining qualifications. It's been a long journey - not just a flash in a pan."
It's been quite an experience for the 'Sgubor Goch boys - with most of them turning their backs on lives of crime and unemployment. In the first episode, the cameras are invited to Sgaw's wedding day and we'll hear from Jamie, Alan and Dave and find out how their lives have changed for the better.
