T Llew Jones

T Llew Jones was born in Bwlchmelyn, Pentrecwrt on October 11 1915.

He was the headmaster at Coedybryn Primary School for nearly twenty years.

He enjoyed competing in local eisteddfodau. In 1950 he won first prize for an englyn at the National Eisteddfod at Caerphilly. He also won the chair at the National Eisteddfod in 1958 and 1959.

His hobbies were cricket and chess. He even became the manager for the Welsh women's chess team at one time.

Some people tend to think of T Llew Jones as a children's writer and his importance as a poet is often overlooked.
