O Flaen Dy Lygaid: Cadw'r Ffydd

Spreading God's word in Cricieth

When Ben Thomas was fourteen, he experienced a spiritual intervention which moved him to tears. From that moment onwards he knew that he had a role to play sharing God's gospel.

Ben, who left a successful journalistic career with BBC Wales Today to preach on the bustling streets of Covent Garden, is now the pastor in an Evangelical church in Cricieth.

Move to the country

O Flaen dy Lygaid: Cadw'r Ffydd follows Ben, his wife Bethan and their daughters Megan and Angharad, as they leave a busy city life for a close-knit seaside community in north Wales.

Life in Cricieth couldn't be any more different to the life he led in London but Ben's work and his commitment to delivering God's word is the same inside and out of the church's walls.

Missionary work

His missionary work, whether on the streets of Soho or Porthmadog high street, is all important to him.

"With families dividing and people living very singular and lonely lives, we see it as an important part of our work that we have the opportunity, and give people the opportunity to share things with us," Ben says about his street preaching.

Ben and his family have faced their fair share of challenges but this has only made their faith stronger as they thank the Lord daily for his support, love and the life he's given them.
