David Edwards from the group Datblygu was one of the most pioneering artists of the Nineties. His songs were poetic, his music enchanting and he engaged audiences in Wales and beyond.
Joining him on a few tracks was his dear friend, actress and singer Rhian Ree Davies.
In the programme David and Ree both talk openly about their illness, the time they've spent in psychiatric units and their hopes and aspirations for the future.
David now lives in Cardigan where he was brought up and he has suffered from schizophrenia, bi-polar disease and paranoid psychosis. Although he's spent the last 15 years battling the illness, he admits that it didn't come as a surprise to him.
"I've always believed that there was something wrong with me," he explains.
Although he is still taking medication, David realises that he continues to drink excessively and he needs to change his behaviour if his condition is to improve.
"I just want to live - to live easily from day to day," he says of the future.
Ree's son Elis offers her a focus in her life. She now lives in Cardiff where she has spent time pursing her acting career on Pobol y Cwm, composing and performing. She has mixed feelings about her condition, relishing the creative highs it brings but also realising there's a high price to pay when she is in the depressive phase of the illness.
"It's like a circle. I go down then I go up and down - I've never been constant in my life. That's what I'm looking for - the calm."
