Sam

Sam
  • Name: Sam Carey

One of the youngest contenders for the title this year will be 22 year old Sam Carey from North Pembrokeshire. Sam graduates from Harper Adams University this year, after being awarded the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society scholarship to complete his Bsc.

Sam's family farm a 500 head pedigree herd in Rhoshill, North Pembrokeshire and also have a small herd of beef.

"After I left school my dad asked me to come and work on the farm for a whole year and if I liked it, then go to college," he says.

"That's what I did, and I haven't looked back. I've been really lucky to have had an opportunity to do a work placement with Waitrose which gave me the opportunity to see so many different stages of the supply chain," he explains.

A keen boxer, Sam made it through to the Welsh Boxing Championships a few years ago and now his studies are over he's hoping to take up the sport again in the future.

He thinks that he has a good chance on the programme and hopes to "bring the X Factor to the Fferm Ffactor!"
