On a scale of 1-10, how green do you think you are?
8, maybe?
What's your greenest habit?
I recycle everything Gwynedd Council lets me in the blue box, and I switch everything off at night – nothing is left on standby.
Do you know what your carbon footprint is and does it worry you?
After filming Ar y Lein, it's probably huge! But I tell myself that I enable other people to see the world through my footprint so that they don't have to cause further damage. On the other hand, it's possible I may inspire others to go and see these amazing places... But when I'm at home, I walk or cycle a lot. Although sometimes I have to put the bike in the car to get to a safe cycle path... oh well.
How much do you recycle?
Newspapers, cans and bottles every fortnight in the blue box. I can only recycle plastic every couple of months at the moment (when a van comes to Dolgellau to do that), and it makes me really quite cross. I have a compost bin too, and I use bits of paper, cardboard and wood chippings on the fire at home.
How much do you re-use?
Quite a lot – large envelopes, Christmas wrapping paper; I use Christmas cards to make labels, carrier bags as bin bags and give any clothes I don't need to friends or the Red Cross.
What kind of lightbulbs do you have at home?
Mostly low-energy by now.
Do you compost?
Yes, food waste.
What was the last green thing you did?
Put some veg peelings in the compost.
Do you think we can all make a difference?
Yes, definitely – we all need to learn as much as we can about what we can do.
If the big floods came, what would you save – apart from your family?
My diaries. But it would be very hard to leave my computer because I have so much half finished work on it.
