On a scale of 1-10, how green do you think you are?

I try and recycle and reuse as much as possible, but I think I could do better – 6.

What's your greenest habit?

I recycle waste and make compost with food scraps like fruit and veg. Also, when I buy fresh food, I try and choose the produce with least plastic packaging.

Do you know what your carbon footprint is and does it worry you?

Sorry, I don't know! Because of all the travelling involved with making Ralïo, I'm sure it's quite big. But the motor-racing world is trying to change its ways by partering races and rallies to reduce the travel in between events. They're also introducing bio-fuels to competitions.

How much do you recycle?

As much as I can. Mobile phones go to specialist recycling shops; clothes go to charity shops or clothes recycling banks. I recycle glass jars and bottles, books, newspapers etc.

How much do you re-use?

Quite a bit. Plastic bags – although I recycle bags for shopping now! Takeaway containers, and jars to keep stuff like nails, small change etc.

What kind of lightbulbs do you have at home?

Energy-saving ones – all the way!

Do you compost?

Yes! I live in a flat, so I take the waste to the family's compost heap – they only live a few miles away.

What was the last green thing you did?

I changed all the lightbulbs in the new flat to energy-saving ones.

Do you think we can all make a difference?

We need to raise awareness and get the information out there! By recycling, reusing, and doing our bit, we can all have a positive effect on the environment, now and for the future.

If the big floods came, what would you save – apart from your family?

Sentimental things – family photographs, cards and letters.
