Y Sioe 07

S4C broadcasted over 100 hours of the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show this year, extending its coverage with live, uninterrupted broadcasts from the Show’s second ring, featuring the cattle classes and activities organised by Wales YFC.

The live digital coverage can be accessed world-wide on our website and highlights can be viewed via broadband for up to a month after the Show in the UK. The website also provides access to S4C’s broadcast schedule, full results service and greetings from the Show.

Nia Roberts was the main anchor for S4C’s daytime coverage, with Dai Jones, Llanilar hosting the evening highlights packages along with Cwpwrdd Dillad presenter Nia Parry and 04 Wal’s Aled Samuel.

Nia Roberts’ reporting team during the day were Dai Jones, Daloni Metcalfe, Morgan Jones and Mari Grug. The four were out and about on the showground bringing the latest excitement to the screen.

Meirion Davies, S4C’s Head of Content said, “S4C’s extensive coverage of this year’s Royal Welsh Show underlines the Channel’s commitment to rural programming and to the Show itself.

“We’ll have the most informed commentators providing an expert view of the Show for keen-eyed followers of the competitions, while there’ll be plenty of entertainment for those who simply want to enjoy the fun and excitement of this great event.”

As well as broadcasting over 100 hours from the Show, S4C staged activities each day in its pavilion on the showground with everyone welcome to join in the fun.

Some of Wales’ top chefs prepared tasty meals in the pavilion each morning and afternoon and offered new ideas for all foodies. Among the celebrities appearing in the pavilion were the singer, Einir Dafydd, co-winner of the Cân i Gymru competition this year. Some of the presenters of S4C’s children’s slot Planed Plant were also on hand including Gareth Delve, Lowri Williams and Alex Jones.
