Cwm yr Eglwys
If you visit Cwm-yr-Eglwys in North Pembrokeshire, you won't see much of the old church dedicated to St Brynach which gives the village its name. During the massive storm of 25-26 October 1859, the gales whipped up the waves at Cwm-yr-Eglwys on the Pembrokshire coast, so that the old church was pounded by wind and water. Three of the church's walls were washed away, leaving just the single wall standing. But for some communities around Wales the losses were much worse ...
