Gwilym Simcock

"A jaw-droppingly exciting pianist" The Guardian

The press is full of superlatives for the talents of this young Welsh pianist. Gwilym Simcock is described as the most talented pianist on the British jazz scene and is often compared to the world renowned master, Keith Jarrett.

At 27 years of age, he has already won some of the most distinguished prizes in the jazz world including the Perrier Award and numerous BBC Jazz Awards. Following periods studying at music colleges the influence of classical music as well as jazz is obvious in his work and this year he was commissioned to compose a Concerto for jazz piano trio to be performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Proms.
