Beneath the Trees: there is an amazing variety of wildlife in the woodlands of Wales. Iolo travels the whole country in search of the birds and mammals who live in their shelter. We see deer, ants who build incredible nests and the red squirrel, an increasingly rare sight since the advent of its grey cousin.
With the red kites, the nest location is a secret, so we can only give a general idea of the area it is in, near Nant yr Arian Kite feeding centre. There is a red kite worker, Tony Cross, who showed us where the best nest for filming was and we had to get a licence from the Countryside Commission for Wales as it is a protected species.
