Siân has been an Assembly Member for ten years but she resigns after disagreeing with the assembly government's plans to close village schools. Because of this, she helps the community by returning to campaigning on a local level.
It's not only her relationship with Doug that's new to Siân. Following Awen's death, she's persuaded to stand in the assembly elections instead of Defi and she begins a career in the new organisation.
Siân is still campaigning, this time for devolution. Her friend, Berian, tries his luck with her but it's clear that she has feelings for Doug.
Siân tries to be everywhere as she tries to sustain her job and looking after her mother. A friend of hers tries to kiss her, but it seems she's got her eyes on someone else.
Siân has re-discovered her freedom following her divorce. She's very active in the community, helping families affected by the strike.
She is 33 and is married to Philip but they have no children. She stills lives close to Pen Talar and looks after her widowed mother. As the series develops we sense her growing disillusionment with her marriage and her life in general. She knows that she has more to offer and we see her blossom during the series, leaving Philip and realising her potential as an independent woman.
Siân is 28 and is still working at the bank and is married to Philip. She is ticking all the boxes expected by her mother and has grown slightly distant from her brother.
Siân is now 23 and works at the bank in the local town but still lives at home. In line with the rest of the household she's not interested in the investiture celebrations that are going on around her, she'd rather go to the cinema with Philip, her boss at the bank. In the spirit of the times, finding a prospective husband and settling down are Siân's priorities. Her mother approves.
Aged 16, Siân is a caring, sensible girl. She respects her parents and follows her mother's orders dutifully, up to a point.
Siân loves her young brother, Defi, and looks out for him at times when he gets into trouble. A mature girl, Siân is warm, kind and responsible though even in the early episodes you can tell that she has an inner strength and passion and will one day be successful and respected.
