The Journey/Y Daith (2010)
S4C wishes to broadcast a second series of documentary programmes under the heading The Journey (Y Daith) that deal with matters relating to faith and religion. As in the 2009 series the programmes will follow journeys or pilgrimages in Wales and beyond. Companies are invited to submit programme ideas via the ideas website under the Factual genre. Please note that this is not a tender and the ideas will be considered as part of the usual commissioning process. The series will follow the same pattern as the 2009 series of Y Daith and the O’r Galon series. We anticipate compiling a series of up to six half hour individual programmes.
The submissions will be discussed during the week beginning 25 January 2010. All ideas should be submitted via the S4C website by 12:00 mid-day, 22 January 2010. The intention will be for the series to be produced and broadcast during 2010. The series will include different religions and the programmes should be contemporary with compelling stories and with contributors who are well-suited to communicate those stories.
The cost of the programmes will be in line with S4C’s indicative tariffs and will depend on the editorial content. We request that you state a guide price when submitting your idea via the website.
We will contact companies to confirm that we are interested in discussing ideas further by Monday 8 February 2010.
S4C reserves the right not to commission any ideas that are submitted.
