Vetting and Barring Scheme Guidance - children and vulnerable adults

The Home Office has recently issued guidance to assist employers in properly implementing the Vetting and Barring Scheme that was introduced to ensure that everyone working in regulated or controlled activity with children and vulnerable adults is checked and registered. The guidance includes information about:-
· The scope of the scheme and timescales
· The registration and barring process
· How the scheme will affect employers
Further information regarding the scheme is expected over the next few months. Once this information is available S4C plans to refresh the S4C Policy for the Protection of Children and other Vulnerable People.
