Laneside Lexus became the first mare to win BHRC`s most coveted prize, and rewarded harness racing`s Posh and Becks Alexis and William “Rocker” Laidler on probably the best night's racing ever seen on Rasus.

2011 CHAMPIONSHIP RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. BHRC and Track rules will apply.
2. Qualifying races:
5 Heats
Ceredigion - Sunday 3 rd July
Tairgwaith - Wednesday 13 th July
Tir Prince - Wednesday 27th July
Tairgwaith - Wednesday 10th August
Tir Prince - Wednesday 17th August
Championship Race Final
Tir Prince - Wednesday 31st August
3. Entry fee for the Qualifying races to be at the track’s discretion.
4 Qualifying races to be for the top rated handicap marked horses.
5. Imported horses must have either won a race or accrued £300 in place money in the UK or Ireland since January 2010 in order to qualify for consideration for this year’s Crock of Gold series. If imported horses have not succeeded in either of the above criteria, each horse will be granted a maximum of 3 entries into this year’s qualifying races – if at the conclusion of those 3 entries they have not accumulated any place monies then they will no longer be eligible to enter any further races in this year’s competition. However if they do accumulate place monies in any of these initial 3 races then thereafter they will be fully eligible to enter any of the remaining qualifying races.
6. The number in each race to be at the track’s discretion. (Albeit with a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 10 horses per qualifying race).
7. Opt out of the Crock of Gold Qualifying races (where two top class horses in the same ownership/trainership are entered at a meeting) to be decided at track’s discretion.
8. Total Prize Money for the series will be
£12,500
- £7,500 for Qualifying races,
£5,000 for the Final
Qualifying Races (£7,500 = £1,500 per heat)
Prize money in terms of qualifying for final:
1st - £1000
2nd - £350
3rd - £100
4th - £50
Individual tracks can supplement prize money in Qualifying races, but only the above amounts will count towards qualification for The Championship Race.
Championship Final Race
Total prize money for the Championship Race will be £5,000, but in accordance with BHRC Handicapping guidelines prize fund will be allocated as follows;
1st - 70% (£3,500),
2nd - 15% (£750),
3rd -10% (£500),
4th - 5% (£250)
9. The Championship Race will comprise of the top money winners (including place money) from the Qualifying Races. 8 top money winners to qualify for the final. The next 4 horses to be nominated reserves, and will be only eligible to run if there is a withdrawal before 6pm the day previous to the Final. In all cases where there is a tie, selection will be by ballot.
10. The Championship race will be run as a Free For All, over a distance of one mile, with draw for position being made on the night.
11. No entry fee for the Championship Race, but eligible horses must be declared by 1700 Friday August 26th.
12. In all cases the decision of the Chairman of the Stewards at the track will be final.
13. In unforeseen circumstances conditions may be altered.
