End of Season Report
Just a quick thank you all for your support again this year.
The good news is that Rasus will next year celebrate its coming of age – 18th birthday! The exact format of Rasus 2010 is still under consideration, but as soon as a future direction has been finalised, plans will be announced on the website.
Rasus at its best, like Heineken claimed, can reach the parts that other programs cannot reach. The standout TV memory for 2009 was undisputedly Tudor Jones` victory at Tregaron. A local man winning in front of his own people. This magical moment encapsulated the core appeal of harness racing in Wales, and highlighted Rasus` relevance to Welsh audiences - it's imperative that we endeavour to capture more of these magical moments in future.
Since the end of the series Kelly Wakefield has enjoyed a visit to Little Brown Jug as prize for winning the 2008 Young Drivers` Championships and this is what she had to say on her return.
“Had a fantastic time!! Thanks for the opportunity! Roger Huston was very good to me and let me watch the racing from the infield, which I did for a while. Jugette and Jug day were by far the best racing of the week……I got offered a job whilst I was over there working for one of the top trainers which I have accepted… I`ve gained more than I could ever imagine, from the trip with you.
