Due to the strength of the sentiments expressed following this year's Crock of Gold final some of the contributions have been edited for legal reasons ( the excluded quotes are noted by '...' )

Sara Morgans

"this website is fantastic!

you really have put in a lot of time and effort into harness racing this year Rasus, introducing new things like the young drivers, people from the outside aswell as the inside of harness racing has really enjoyed following the series!

i cant explain how many people are following it every week!

as 2007 winner of the young drivers i would like to thank you for this challenge and opportunity and congratulate all the young drivers that took part!!a

nd personally to Shon Morgans 'you still have some beating next year to do' hahaha but you did great for your first seaon well done!

Keep up the good work Rasus and i hope that next year will start off with a bang like this year! and i look forward to my trip to paris!

Dai Jones your a great presenter."

Harness Horse Lover

"Galliano and Conners Dragon were the best behaved beings in all the going-on at The Crock of Gold Final.

The sport is about the horses. Both were fabulous throughout the season.

Thankyou S4C for allowing us to watch such heroic performances.

I look forward to coverage in 2008 and beyond."

trevor arkins

"I just wonder if it had been an Irish in second and Megan Taff or Alan Haythornthaite crosing the line first would the stewarts have been so quick to disqualify them. I dont think so & the site of that girl holding Scoot Around smiling in Alan Richardson's face when he had been told he was disqulified leave's a bad taste my mouth. Last year when Scoot Around pipped Frisco Titan you saw the Irish gracious in defeat. Galiano didnt make any progress by the driver using 1 hand, he had the field beaten.

In america and canada the same rule appiles, but ive senn john campbell & Mike Lachance celebrate in exactly the same way & retain the victory. Kikikolt WILL win the Crock next year.

Final note: Congratulations to The Rasus/S4C team this was the best year yet. Hope next year you will be back again. Maybe stay away from Tir Prince."

Sue Richards

"I watched Rasus on Monday night as usual looking forward to seeing the Crock of Gold race, what a shame it had to finish the way it did with stewards punishing the horse as well as the driver, whether the driver had the reins in both hands or not it would not have affected the outcome of the race, therefore why didn' they just fine the driver, he did not gain by having the reins in one hand and did not hinder the oppposition. "Where will it all end"? "

john

"s4c stated at the conception of cog it is to help to keep good horses from going abroad. it seems that some people are so desparate for glory that they feel the need to import a ready made horse. horses like conners dragon show the true horsemanship needed to take the sport forward where is the sportsmanship in ready made imports. there should be a cut off point e.g must be in country by 3yr old."

galiano fan

"galiano won that race as fair as you can. alan puting his hand in the air had no inpact on the way the horse ran . alan should get a fine . the horse should not lose the race . GALIANO WON THE CROCK OF GOLD . so reward him."

Tony McKeown

"The Stewards at Tir Prince were absolutely correct.

None of the winning drivers at Tregaron, Musselburgh, York, Amman Valley or indeed any other GB track commited such a stupid offence, thus wasting the horses' efforts.

Maybe it'd different in the Emerald Isle but when in Rome do as the Romans do; or put another way...Rule 1. Know the rules."

richards

"There as always being controversial decisions made by judges, referees,Stewarts,in all sports, always have been ,and always will be, the hand of maradonna in football, mcinroe in tennis,(you cannot be serious,) why should our sport be different?but you never hear the fans asking the bbc or itv to withdraw their coverage, surly the rasus team are professional people, who are prepared for all eventualities, like any other tv company.why are we all so engrossed in cutting one another's throats?no one wanted to see the race taken off Galliano, whether your Scottish,English,Welsh or Irish.

Like the welsh rugby coach says, we must all learn from this experience and look forward. Lets hope the decision in the appeals room put things right. "

moonster

"An earlier message from Mick said ....

"Can anyone put a halt to the Irish they are winning everything!"

I think your prayers have been answered. A sour grape anyone?"

another concerned viewer

"agree totally that the commentators should inform but not be over opinionated......Mr Jenkins is No McCririck, He`s in a small pond and should not make waves, he`s been a steward himself so should no the problems...!!!

And please note there were several stewards from other tracks who where part of the decision process !

in the clear light of day and after all the shouting (some by people who should have known better) lets take a good look at the Rule.....

great job S4C"

james paterson

"rasus is good to see the races but you dont see every race or what is going on at the top drivers stables what do you think about that."

mr joe

"the stewards were a disgrace at tir prince monday but a bigger disgrace was the girl who owns scoot around who told tom the owner of galliano that she was delighted with the decision."

concerned viewer

"Television commentators should also remain impartial, saying what is happening not what their opinion on what is happening, this is also bad for the sport.United front should be made in front of the general public, argue and voice your opinion in a calm manner once off the air "

Dee

"The Rasus coverage is a lifeline to people like me that cannot always make the racing due to work commitments and the Crock of Gold has been a brilliant series of races in witch interest has grown year on year. I can only hope that S4C remember all the superb coverage that they have done and the pleasure they have given to so many and do not make any decisions based just on Monday night. I do not wish to comment on the stewarding decision but just to thank S4C for Rasus and hope that it is back as good as ever next year. Dee."

Dowsey

"Seems we have the product but not the people to take this sport forward. Rasus do the best job but there is always room for improvement as you show each year by introducing new things. It is time to change personnell at the top of bhrc and get rid of the deadwood any ideas."

craig

"have just taken a good look at the crock final (thanks s4c great site) it was a good seventy yds away from the finish line, and not even past Connors Dragon when he put both reins in one hand............. very stupid he should have known better.........!!

wasted a good horse, wasted lots of peoples money, and lost the track record.

seems obvious to me he could not keep the race.

under the B.H.R.C. rules the stewards had no choice, imagine the repercussions from others in the race if he`d been allowed to keep the race."

onlooker

"At last someone with sense, Keith Thomas(earlier message) a valid point, the stewards had no choice but to do what they did, and I`m sure they did it with a heavy heart...!

If it had been the other way round and Galiano had been second, the rush to the Stewards room by the Irish to get the winner disqualified would have been a stampede.............!!! and this I`m sure was taken into consideration.

A tremendous horse ruined by a lapse of concentration by the driver, the time clocked by the horse was 157.9 if driven out to the line what time could he have achieved....?????

Please Irish race fans, S4c, and all who love this sport of ours this was an unfortunate incident but I can assure you If we could turn the clock back we would All be happy to see Galiano WIN..!!!"

bernard mcgovern

"Now that all the dust has settled, Rasus now must be sick as this programme is the finest ever bar none, Still Hywel wont buy Drink but thats another story, Galiano was robbed no question, but we as a Sport need Rasus for the oxygene of publicity, great coverage, and it lets all the world see Cymru, So please dont be despondent keep going, Saddest thing about this is Conners Dragon Gave Craig Nuttall a great race going two wide and its all been overshadowed by crazy stewarding,

Good luck and please come to Corbiewood

ps only loking Hywel"

Amanda

"Hello all,

I am happy to see that so many agree that the decision made on Monday night regarding our beloved horse Galiano was a disgrace.

I have to say that coming from Canada to here and watching the races has been a complete let down.

British Harness racing is a complete flop as far as I am concerned and if anyone at home were to ask me what I thought I would say, They don't really seem to have any rules they just make it up as they please.

I would also like to say that it is disheartening to think anyone would enjoy winning a race with such a hollow victory. If you are beaten fair and square how could you enjoy your win.

...

If you ask me I think it is completely juvenille and I don't believe the sport will ever advance here becuase of the backward people running it.

Finally Good Luck to all of you who do race and own horses.

I hope for your sake there is a change.

We will go back to Canada where the racing is professional becuase racing here has been a huge step down."

Dai

"Very disapointing end to the 2007 rasus programme. To see the race being taken away from Galiano was a disgrace, after all we should be promoting the sport.

I would not blame the Rasus Team if they pulled out of Tir Prince."

bob c

"sad day for the sport galliano won fair and square. ban the driver, do not take it out on the horse!"

jim murdock

"rasus you are the best thing that has brought trotting forward to great britain. please dont let what happened last night keep you away from our great sport. it has nothing to do with you lot.

its the stewards who need there heads looked at. shame on you.

what a greats nights racing only to be turned into the biggest joke of the year. stewards of tir prince raceway hang your heads in shame . with people watching this on t.v. for the first time you are a joke. you have just put trotting back 50 years."

marc elvin

"A brilliant horse won a brilliant race. It is just a shame when a bit of showmanship cannot be shown after all the effort and time it takes to get a horse to that level. It was an amazing sight to see the crowds cheering as he came down the home stretch, after all he did not whip the horse one handed or the cart, or go out of a straight line. our sincere condolences and support go to Tom and Alan, All the best."

Clare Davis

"What a disgrace - Galiano won that race fair and square. I think the stewards made big mistake last night - and it won't be forgotten for a very long time. I know rules have to be followed - but that was just taking it too far "

Bob Lees

"Great series S4C, don't be embarrased re last night, not your decision."

john greedy

"S4C should get out of this game immediately after all the hard work they done this year all spoiled in one race pure jealousy it will always be in this sport.

Hard luck to alan and tom. What a disgrace "

Keith Thomas

"Get rule m7 changed. There is no stewards discretion for this rule.

You can download the rule book on BHRC website.

It is a big shame to finish a great series on such a sower note."
