2010 HARD TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. BHRC and Track rules will apply.
2. Qualifying races:
Race 1 Tir Prince - Monday 5th July
Race 2 Tairgwaith - Monday 12th July
Race 3 Tir Prince - Monday 26th July
Race 4 Tir Prince - Monday 9th August
Race 5 Tairgwaith - Monday 16th August
Championship Race Final
Final Tir Prince - Monday 6th September
3. Entry fee for the Qualifying races to be at the track’s discretion.
4. Qualifying races to be restricted to owners, trainers and drivers who have been members of either WWHRA or NWSA or any other Welsh Standardbred association recognised by BHRC, since 2009. To qualify each entry must satisfy both of the following conditions;
Either Owner or Trainer must have been a member of either WWHRA or NWSA or any other Welsh Standardbred association recognised by BHRC, since 2009.
Drivers;
Class Drivers must have been members of either WWHRA or NWSA or any other Welsh Standardbred association recognised by BHRC, since 2009.
B/C Class Drivers must be current members of afore mentioned Welsh associations
Horses must be grade 2 to 6 when entering a qualifying heat.
Only 1 qualifying race will be run per TV night as listed above. This race will be a live TV Race.
The number in each race to be at the track’s discretion. (Albeit with a minimum of 8 horses per race and a maximum of 10)
All Qualifying race winners will gain automatic qualification for the Championship Final but will thereafter be exempt from entering any further Qualifying races. All non winners of Qualifying Races may enter as many Qualifying races as they wish.
In the case of entries exceeding the track maximum the following rules will apply:
Race 1 - priority will be given to the highest graded horses entered by handicap mark.
Race 2 - priority will be given to the highest graded horses entered by handicap mark, that did not run in Race 1
Races 3 – priority will be given to the highest graded horses entered by handicap mark, that have not yet run in a qualifying race.
Races 4,5 are North /South Wales play off races for who have won the most place money in the series so far.
1st Priority will be given to the top place money winners
2nd priority will be given to the highest graded horses entered by handicap mark, irrespective of how many appearances they may have made in the series
In the case of entries sharing identical handicap marks, preference in all Qualifying races will be given to those who have raced most frequently in 2010 at other WWHRA/NWSA meets (incl. Tairgwaith and Tir Prince)
In all cases the decision of the Chairman of the Stewards at the track will be final.
5. The Championship Race Final will comprise of 10 Horses - the winner of each qualifying race,
plus the next 5 top money winners across the series.
In the event of a tie in monies won, a draw for final selection will be conducted live on TV at Tregaron Races.
In the event of withdrawals from the final, the next 4 horses outside the top 10 will be nominated reserves, and will be only eligible to run if there is a withdrawal before 6pm the day previous to the Final. If there is a tie in monies won between nominated reserves, in the case of withdrawals selection will be by ballot.
No entry fee for the Championship Race Final, but eligible horses must be declared by 1200 Wednesday September 1.
6. Total Prize Money for the series will be £4500 split as follows
Qualifying races – £600 per race;
1st £350
2nd £125
3rd £75
4th £50
Final Race – £1,500;
1st £1,000
2nd £250
3rd £150
4th £100
7. The Championship Race Final will be run as a Free For All, over a distance of one mile with draw for position being made on the night.
8. In all cases the decision of the Chairman of the Stewards at the track will be final.
9. In unforeseen circumstances conditions may be altered.Â
