Young Drivers Championship 2009
1. Young Drivers to accumulate points for their best placed finish in any
one race that occurs at each of the following TV race meetings;
Tir Prince - 22nd June 09
Tairgwaith - 29th June 09
Tairgwaith - 13th July 09
Tir Prince - 27th July 09
Tairgwaith - 10th August 09
Tir Prince - 17th August 09
Points allocated for nominated race at a full televised meeting will be;
1st – 5pts, 2nd – 3pts, 3rd – 2pts, 4th – 1pt
2. Specific Young Driver Only Races to be held at the following grass meetings – extra weighting will be allocated to points accumulated at these races
Aberystwyth - 5th July 09
Boughrood - 23rd August 09
Tregaron - 29th August 09
Points allocated for Specific Young Driver Only Races will be;
1st – 8pts, 2nd – 5pts, 3rd – 3pts, 4th – 2pt
There will only be 1 Specific Young Driver Only Race at each of these venues.
Maximum number of runners per race will be at individual track’s discretion.
If more than track maximum enter, then the lowest points scorers across the series will be balloted out.
3. Championship Final Race at Tir Prince, Crock of Gold night.
• The top 8 drivers according to points scored in series will qualify for Final
• Points count double in Final so that Championship is in balance until end.
• Champion will be the driver with the most points total for the series. In the event of a tie, placings on the Final night will decide.
• Prize for Champion Driver TBC
Rules and Regulations
1. Open to drivers born in the UK, on or after January 1st 1985 who hold a BHRC B or C Class drivers licence on 22nd June 2009.
2. Specific Young Driver Only & Championship Final Race Regulations;
• BHRC and Track rules will apply.
• Entry fee to be at the track’s discretion.
• Drivers to drive their own horses. Since BHRC maximum race trail is 60yds - horses should be grades 1 to 7.
• Races to be run as 1 mile handicap races, with betting and the use of whips allowed
• Prize Money to be at the track’s discretion and will count towards horse’s individual handicap mark
3. In unforeseen circumstances conditions may be altered.
