The Series
Programme 1 – 03/04/2012
In the first programme, Shân Cothi gets to experience the Wales Coast Path from the air, following a chat with Maldwyn Williams at the Caernarfon airport while Iolo Williams walks along the path with Olive Corner who owns a cattery and kennels in the Porthcawl area. In her first programme as the new Bro presenter, Lowri Morgan will attempt to snowboard with the instructor Bedwyr ap Gwyn on the Great Orme in Llandudno. There is also a chance to get to know Aberystwyth University student Gwion Llŷr – and his interest is ‘parkour’ – which is a physical discipline, which focuses on efficient movement around obstacles.
Programme 2 – 10/04/2012
In the second programme of Bro…Llwybr yr Arfordir, Shân Cothi will be horse riding along Ogmore beach with her friend Brychan Llŷr while Lowri Morgan will be in an unique vehicle near Barry, chatting to the owner James Williams. Iolo Williams travels along the path on two wheels with the cyclist Richard Jones in Anglesey and meets Sara Beechey, the owner of The Ship in the seaside town of Llangrannog in Ceredigion. There’s also a chance to learn more about kite surfing with Shem ap Geraint in Aberdovey and keeping the path tidy in New Quay with Richard Thomas.
Programme 3 – 17/04/2012
In the third programme following the Wales Coast Path, Iolo Williams meets Dai Jenkins – a popular character who works at the Urdd centre in Llangrannog as well as visiting the Porth Swtan cottage in Church Bay, Anglesey in the company of Bryn Jones from the National Trust. Shân Cothi gives archery a go in Pendine under the instruction of Gethin Jones while Lowri Morgan learns more on how to create art from driftwood with Lizzie Spikes on Llanon beach in Ceredigion. Iolo Williams gets the chance to learn more about building custom motorbikes in Port Dinorwic with Alun Roberts.
Programme 4 – 24/04/2012
The team are continuing their journey along the Wales Coast Path, with Iolo Williams joining Alan Giles on a special trip around Cardigan Bay, and meeting Rhian Williams as they walk together on Penllech beach on the Lleyn Peninsula. Shân Cothi tastes some of Linda Robertson’s homemade fudge in Pwllheli while Lowri Morgan gives surfing a go with Tom John on the Gower coast. Iolo Williams and Shân Cothi visit the site of Battlefield Live! near Amroth with Aneurin Miles who helped to build the site and we will also hear more about the family history of Jon Meirion Jones in Cwmtydu, Ceredigion.
Programme 5 – 01/05/2012
In the fifth programme in the series, which continues to follow the Wales Coast Path, Iolo Williams and Shân Cothi learn more about the Air Cadets with Flight Lieutenant Carwyn Roberts in the village of Llanbedr near Harlech in Gwynedd while Lowri Morgan meets Mags Edwards to learn more about the Challenge Wales boat in Penarth. Iolo Williams experiences snorkelling with Ifor Griffiths in Martin’s Haven, Pembrokeshire and meets the Lloyd Jones family to learn more about the Abersoch Moorings. Shân Cothi also meets the artist Robert Dafydd Cadwalader, who gets his inspiration from the ocean waves in Criccieth.
