The Rothsay Castle

The Rothsay Castle, one of the first steam driven ships, was wrecked in 1831 on Lavan Sands near Penmon Point.
She was not designed to be a sea-going vessel and had only one lifeboat. At the time of the disaster she was known to be unseaworthy and one hundred and seven people lost their lives.
