Haverfordwest have parted company with their manager, Derek Brazil, following Friday night’s 4-0 defeat at Neath.

In a statement released on the club’s website it was announced that Brazil and his asstant, Mark Evans, would be leaving with immediate effect.

The Pembrokeshire based club are currently bottom of the Welsh premier League after 13 matches.

And the statement said the decision was taken "in the hope that they will be allowing the next manager enough time to rectify a situation which, at the moment, sees the Club staring relegation in the face.

"Derek Brazil has done sterling work at the Club as a player and also over the last four and a half seasons as the manager. The Directors are greatly indebted to the service he has given to the Club."

And Brazil, a former Manchester United and Cardiff City player said: "I suppose it is in the best interest of myself and the Club that the Directors have had to make this decision.

"Perhaps a fresh face is needed as the players have consistently under performed all season.

"I feel that I have taken the club forward over the last four years. It appears that I have taken it as far as I can."
