Which team do you support
Everton - and every team that lines up against that other lot in red!
Who was/is your footballing hero?
Alan Ball, without a doubt! Ball joined Everton just after winning the World Cup with England in 1966 and, along with Colin Harvey and Howard Kendall, formed the Holy Trinity that was key to Everton's championship winning side of 1970.
I used to collect tokens from Typhoo tea packets and sent away for an A4 colour poster of Alan Ball, so you could say I slept with Alan Ball every night!
Who did you want to be when playing football on the schoolyard?
The other boys always used to complain that instead on concentrating on playing football I was commentating!
What is your favourite footballing memory?
I have two favourite memories and I was fortunate enough to commentate on both of them. The first is Mickey Thomas' goal ... and I almost don't have to say which one, do I?
Everybody knows that I mean that glorious free kick against Arsenal in the 1992 FA Cup. A cracking goal and a wonderful afternoon.
My second memory is another goal. Ryan Giggs' first international goal for Wales against Belgium at the Arms Park in 1993. He managed to curl the ball around the Belgian wall and past the despairing hands of Michel Preud'homme
Who is the best player you have seen?
I'm sure this will be a controversial choice, especially as I've seen so many stars of world football both on Sgorio and when commentating on Wales' international matches, but the best player I've ever seen is Paul Gascoine.
He had amazing ability and I think had he been Italian or an Argentine he would have received far more credit.
Sgorio has been broadcasting Spanish football for 20 years, but who is the star player from that period?
There are countless names I could mention but I think the Mexican genius, Hugo Sanchez, and the Bulgarian, Hristo Stoichkov are the two I remember most fondly.
Of course, Sanchez and his acrobatic goal celebrations were a constant sight during John Toshack's reign as Real Madrid manager whilst Stoichkov was a key factor in Barcelona's championship winning sides of 1991 to 1994.
