John Toshack was excited by the prospect of facing England after the two teams came out of the hat to face each other in the Euro 2012 qualifiers.
"England at Wembley in a competetive match must excite all Welsh players - it certainly excites me," Toshack told Sgorio.
Wales will be in Group G alongside England, Switzerland, Bugaria and Montenegro in the qualifying campaign.
And Toshack was well aware of the challenge which faces his young side.
"The team who are supposed to be seeded below us, Montenegro, are a tough side," he said.
"There are no soft touches in that group, but at the same time, I think Switzerland, Bulgaria, Montenegro are sides we can beat and then of course there's the big local derby against England."
"There's two ways of looking at it," he explained. "If our young lads progress in the way that we hope they will, we can have a go at this one."
"A lot of these lads will have played against the England u21s in both of those matches for Brian (Flynn) and if they can carry that spirit into the two matches with the English then we'll be okay."
