The search for a location for the new series in Ireland started in December.

I was fortunate enough to visit some of Irelands finest guest houses such as Wineport Lodge, Athlone, (www.wineport.ie) and the stunning Lisloughrey Lodge, Co.Mayo (www.lisloughrey.ie) to Castleleslie, County Monaghan (www.castleleslie.com).

The Urdd cooking competition started in March and was a great success, with schoolchildren across Wales taking part.

Another event which I attended was the Aberaeron Fish Festival, always worth a visit, as it offers the opportunity to cook fresh fish, so fresh that some are still moving.

If you haven't been before, then make the effort next year.

I can assure that you won't be disappointed.

This year, like every other, has also been full of events promoting the new Tigh Dudley series as well as the numerous cookery displays organised across Wales by S4C.

The display will be at the Llangollen Food Festival on 17 October and there's another one the following weekend at the Conwy food festival.

I'm also busy preparing for our Christmas special Dudley, Pryd o Sêr, where eight celebrities from Wales get a chance to battle it out in the kitchen!
