47 High Street
A lovely example of a late Tudor house. The best feature is the Green Man carving on the corbel – the symbol has pagan origins as a symbol of rebirth.
Corner Shop
The overhung first storey reflects the origins of the building in the Tudor period. It was an architectural symbol of status and also a practical way of providing weather protection.
Assembly Rooms
Built in the Italianate Gothic style in 1869. Lovely brickwork and the Campanile tower give it the Italian style. Designed by Thomas Nicholson of Hereford.
The Post Office
Sitting on the site of the old town hall it is typical of early nineteenth century urban buildings.
Radnor Buildings
A lovely example of Aesthetic Movement urban design. It was built around 1900. What makes it unusual is the plasterwork panels, called pargetting.
St Andrews Church
The largest parish church in the county and the tower remains the tallest building.
