47 High Street
A lovely example of a late Tudor house. The best feature is the Green Man carving on the corbel – the symbol has pagan origins as a symbol of rebirth.

Corner Shop
The overhung first storey reflects the origins of the building in the Tudor period. It was an architectural symbol of status and also a practical way of providing weather protection.

Assembly Rooms

Built in the Italianate Gothic style in 1869. Lovely brickwork and the Campanile tower give it the Italian style. Designed by Thomas Nicholson of Hereford.

A lovely example of Aesthetic Movement urban design. It was built around 1900. What makes it unusual is the plasterwork panels, called pargetting.
