Pont Dyfi - Bow Street and the traditional games tournament
Pont Dyfi - Bow Street and the traditional games tournament

At the crack of dawn Ifan will begin his quest by travelling from Machynlleth toward Llandre, Bow Street. Following months of preparing his mind, body and his dogs and with some army training under his belt, how will Ifan be feeling as he takes his first steps on such an epic journey? At his side will be experienced shepherd Erwyd Howells and some members of the Young Farmers’ Union Wales to help control the flock.

WHAT’S HAPPENING

19:00 – BOW STREET FOOTBALL CLUB – TRADITIONAL COUNTRY GAMES TOURNAMENT

Regional information

BOW STREET Some 3 miles north-east of Aberystwyth lies the large village of Bow Street. Its name believed to be derived from the London Street of the same name, Bow Street, rather unusually, has no formal Welsh-language name. The village hit the headlines back in November 2006 when it was struck by a tornado, estimated to be force three on the Fujita scale!
