Profile
I started out in Pony Club and in a competition called ‘tetrathlon',which the Pony Club held on an annual basis. A ‘tetrathlon' is made up of shooting, swimming, cross-country and horse riding. I got spotted whilst competing in such a competition by my now coach, John Kelman. He asked me to join the club in Carmarthen – the rest as they say, is history!
I'm very fond of the concentration and self-discipline required to succeed in the shooting environment.
Of course, the opportunities I have been given – travelling the world and meeting new people - have been second to none.
Ambition
I am very hopeful of reaching the Commonwealth Games in Delhi 2010, but of course, my ultimate ambition is to compete in London 2012.
It takes a huge amount of dedication to succesfully compete. I have to keep myself motivated so that I train regularly. I have to make the same sacrifices that other athletes have to make, and I have to train whilst some of my friends enjoy their social lives. It'll be worth it though.
