Profile
I started swimming when I was 6 years old, when I went swimming with my best friend to our local club.
I never really looked back.
Being in the water feels completely natural to me – I can't imagine my life without swimming.
The training is of course very hard. We have to undertake 10 or 11 sessions a week which is a massive commitment. But I love it – you'd have to really – what else would keep you getting up at 5.30 in the morning?!
All the sacrifices are worth it though. I have met people from all across the world and have visited some far off countries as a result of swimming for Wales.
Ambition
Like every athlete that competes in any sport, reaching the Olympics is the ultimate goal, and the fact that they're in London only makes them more special.
I realise that it won't be easy making the GB squad. I'm already part of the Intensive Training Centre in Swansea, but I still know that I will have to give everything that I've got to make sure that I reach that ultimate goal.
