Profile

I have been involved in athletics since my third year in Primary School when I was introduced to the sport by my teacher, Mrs Bowen. Everything started from there.

When I went to Ysgol Gyfun Cwm Rhymni it became more competitive. That was when I joined an athletic club when I was eleven years old.

Initially, I chose athletics because my friend was doing it, and I chose the long jump because I thought it looked easy and the older children seemed to be having fun playing in the sand.

What I like most about my sport is the pleasure of competing and seeing my friends.

Another thing that's great about long jump is the fact that you get three chances to do well, whereas with running you only get the one.

It takes a lot of time, practice and effort to be a good athlete. If that's really what you want then you will be prepared for that.

Ambition

My greatest ambition is to reach the Commonwealth Games in 2010 and, of course, the 2012 Olympics.

I know it'll be tough, but it would mean the world to me, so all I can do is to try my best and hope that I can represent Britain in 2012.
