Profile
I always wanted to be an athlete and I never dreamt of anything else. I have pictures of me competing when I was younger at home, and given that dad also represented Wales in the Edinburgh Commonwealth Games, I suppose that athletics ran through the blood.
But I never wanted to be an athlete just for the fun element. I have always wanted to be the best athlete. I compare athletics to boxing, I want to be the best, and I am willing to fight for that honour.
They call the 400m Hurdles the 'man killer' - it's hard, very hard - that's why there's not a huge amount of people who do it. But I like that and I like the fact that it pushes me.
Ambition
I suffered a serious injury in 2006 and I haven't really been able to compete since then. This season I was determined to prove that I was back on track.
At the moment I am in the top three in Europe but It's not enough. I want to be in the top three in the World. In fact, I want to be the best in the world.
I want to leave my mark in Welsh athletics and in Welsh history. I want to inspire people, and I think that reaching London, and proving myself on the highest level, would do this. It would fulfil my ambitions.
