Profile
I haven't been playing Wheelchair rugby for long but it's safe to say that I am hooked. I started 5 months ago when I happened to be training in the gym upstairs at the leisure centre in Llantrisant and one of the staff asked if I'd seen the team who practiced downstairs. I went down, had a jump in the chair, and I was into it straight away.
I had an accident at work which meant I would need a wheelchair for the rest of my life. It was tough, of course it was, but I'm adamant that I will rule the chair and not let the chair rule me. Wheelchair rugby is sometimes called 'murderball' and the fact that I play this sport underlines my determination.
Ambition
I have already experiences playing the sport at a British level and this has made me extremely proud. The GBWR teem is great and the guys and girls who're involved make it a really great environment to train in. It's intense though, and the work that we have to put in is hardcore, but we all know that by doing it the payoff could be competing in 2012. That's what we all want, but nobody more than me.
